ZESA Holdings (Pvt) Ltd has announced the scheduled maintenance of Hwange Power Station units, which will take place in March and continue into May 2025. This is part of the company’s efforts to ensure efficiency and reliability in electricity generation.

According to the notice, Hwange Unit 7 will undergo Class B maintenance from March 2 to March 29, 2025. This follows the successful Class C maintenance of Hwange Unit 8 in January. Additionally, Hwange Unit 6 will be taken offline from March 15 to May 14, 2025, for statutory maintenance to prepare for increased electricity demand during the winter season.

ZESA has assured the public that measures have been put in place to ensure a stable power supply during the maintenance period. Kariba Power Station, which operates as a peaking plant, will be carefully managed to balance supply and demand, conserving water for future use while maintaining a sustainable energy mix.

The power utility has apologized for any inconveniences the scheduled maintenance may cause to its customers.
