The Zimbabwe Chevrons team led by 23 year old captain Clive Madande has won the Africa games cricket final against Namibia by 8 wickets.
Having won the toss , Zimbabwe put in Namibia to bat first. Namibia managed to only score 113 in their innings of 20 overs. This was due to a brilliant bowling performance of the unit of Munyonga ,Muzondo ,Gwandu ,Musekiwa .
The opening batting partnership of Marumani and Mupfudza put up 55 on the scoreboard before Mupfudza was dismissed. Marumani was brilliant in the opening torturing the Namibian bowling attack and scoring his half century century and was bowled for 58 with a strike rate of over 100.
This win means Zimbabwe have now claimed gold for the the men and women’s cricket games at the Africa games in Ghana. The team never set their foot on the wrong pedal having won all their games against Tanzania,Nigeria , Kenya and beating Namibia twice ,first in the opening match and secondly in the closing match.
