The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has once again demonstrated its effectiveness in combating violent crime, successfully arresting three suspects linked to the murder of Sergeant Abel Masava and a string of armed robberies in Bulawayo.

Key Developments:

Mandlenkosi Albert Munangati (26), Clifford Desmond Nare (33), and Thabo Dube (24) were apprehended for the brutal March 28, 2025, murder of Sergeant Masava.

The murder weapon was recovered, solidifying the case against the accused. Investigations also linked the suspects to a year-long armed robbery spree, stretching from April 22, 2024, to March 28, 2025.

Two additional suspects, Sipho Ncube (24) and Dumisani Ndlovu (32), attempted to evade arrest, leading to a dramatic shootout with police officers on Harrow Street, Bulawayo.

The duo were injured during the exchange of gunfire and later succumbed to their wounds at United Bulawayo Hospitals.
Authorities have connected the suspects to 25 armed robbery cases, including:

Supermarket heist in New Luveve (Dec 28, 2024) – Cash and three cellphones stolen.

Funeral parlour robbery in Kelvin North (Feb 10, 2025) – USD 3,608 and ZAR 21,130 stolen. Service station attack (March 2, 2025) – A shotgun and cellphone taken at gunpoint.

This latest operation highlights the ZRP’s unwavering commitment to fighting crime and bringing criminals to justice.
